Yeepa! NEPA!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — listena @ 3:01 am

Hi.

It’s nice to  be back, although i’m a bit stretched cos i’m typing this at break-neck speed (you wish!) so that PHCN (remember the name. They’ll get to you sooner or later.) will not take what is theirs. PHCN holds the responsibility of generating and supplying electricity to Nigerians. There is a lot more holding than anything else in their responsibility for my liking.

Please be kind enough to share your lack of electricity experiences with me. I’d like to see the humour in this. Thanks a mill… Chei!!! They’ve struck again. Gotta go…

Overcoming Limitations

Title: Overcoming Limitations

"Put seeds and cover them. Blades will sprout where you do your
work." -Rumi

"New seed is faithful. Its roots deepest in the places that are
most empty." -Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Have you ever heard the saying: "thoughts are things"? It is a
simple statement and seemingly widely accepted and well known
that everything achieved is first mentally conceived.

Take a look around you. All of the things that we live in and
use, houses, cars, food in supermarkets, space stations, the
Internet, are all things and were first ideas in the minds of
people who dared to think outside of what was the normally
accepted boundaries for what was possible.

Breaking through our imaginary roof and releasing all sorts of
inadequacies and even fantasies takes courage and dynamic
action. Otherwise, your imagined limitations will keep you from
being focused and completing what you need to get done. When we
are "trying" to concentrate, we go to the toilet, we eat a lot,
we put a load of clothes in the washer, we call someone... the
list goes on and on. We must not only learn to control our
minds, but also our bodily movements.

You can create whatever you can imagine and impress onto your
consciousness. If you imagine big things, you must practice or
exercise your imagination. Just as a baby needs to learn to take
small steps before it can walk and then run, we need practice at
concentrating and imagining things. A concentrated mind pays
attention to his or her self and their environment.

Some of our best and most innovative ideas often come from our
darkest challenges and difficulties. These can be life's
greatest gifts, for they urge us to think differently and
greatly, if we are willing to look for the possibilities.

Start with smaller desires that you can believe and expect and
you will either slowly or more quickly learn to have faith in
creating greater things. Even if you do not know what you want,
you can pretend that you know. The simple act of deciding on one
thing and concentrating on will help you in getting the clarity
you desire. Start by honouring your own special skills and
abilities. Everyone has something special about them. Make a
list and choose one thing from this list.

Create possibilities with your imagination. Dream up a situation
where your desire became possible for you.

Create distance to whatever challenge or difficulty your mind
presents to you, whether real or imagined. Push the problem or
problems away from you as if you are watching a movie and
imagine the desired solutions, or imagine that it is someone
else with the problems and they have asked you for help. Know
that you are worthy of these possibilities. Say to yourself:
"The things I create are even better than I imagine them to be."
Break through your limitations and see them for what they are:
thoughts that we have formed in our own minds. If you are
experiencing an ebb, with more money going out than coming in,
don't panic. Do not lose confidence in yourself or think that
somehow you have failed. The challenge here is to believe in
your future prosperity, for all phases are temporary. Focus on
what you are learning from the experience and move on. As you
become better at recognizing these cycles, you will be more
prepared and better able to create what you need, when you need
it.

Reslove that issue!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — listena @ 2:19 am

Have you made any New Year resolutions this year? What has been your success with them in past years? If you’re like many people, they haven’t worked well. Instead, they often turn out to be just another thing we can feel guilty about not accomplishing. So then, HOW can we make lasting changes in the New Year or anytime of the year that will improve the quality of our life? It really is very simple yet we wonder why it is so hard to accomplish our goals. The answer lies in our choices. Not big, life altering choices, but minute to minute, day by day choices. The reason many of us are still where we were this time last year in our life, our job or our business is because we are doing the same thing over and over and not making different choices. As the old saying goes, “If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got”. So how do you do things differently? You make different choices no matter what area of life you want to improve. For instance, if improving your health is a goal you have in mind and you still choose the TV over an evening walk, then don’t be down on yourself when your health is still in the same state next year. To make it simple, CHOOSE DIFFERENTLY IF YOU WANT DIFFERENT RESULTS. Figure out what is not working first and then decide what small daily choices you can make that will give you a different outcome over time. If you are a business owner or wanting to open your own business, what are some choices you can start with to have a thriving business over the next year or so? Maybe it is to do some self exploration or investigation as to what business is a fit for you. If you already have a business maybe you need to make some changes to earn the income you want to earn. It is OK not to know the changes you need to make however you can still make the choice to find the support to help you clarify these choices. In life we don’t always know the right choice to get us where we want to go. We just need to make the choice to ask for and seek support. Our day is a continuous opportunity for choices, therefore a continuous opportunity for improving our lives. Ask yourself when making a choice, is this the choice that will bring me closer to my goal and have a positive effect on the quality of my life? If the answer is no and you choose it anyway, then don’t be surprised that you continue to get what you always got.

So for the year 2007 instead of choosing many overwhelming resolutions, choose to make 2007 a year of positive choices. If you do, then don’t be surprised when next year rolls around and you’re living a fabulous life!
